Is MarsEdit 3.x now ready to make me the happiest Drupal-based blogger ever? It just might be! (And if this intended excerpt actually gets posted as an excerpt, all the better…) Read on.
My test post yesterday ran into troubles, but I believe that was my fault. I changed MarsEdit's settings for this blog with the post half-written, and there appears to be a lesson in there: changing the settings with a post open leaves the in-progress post stuck with old settings (or possibly in some messed-up limbo). Don't expect good results.
After some pretty easy trial and error, I think I've found the settings that work great with Drupal 6. What are the settings? Well, first let's put this blog client through the paces:
Gotta test textformatting. Can we get some superfluous design frills in there, like a circa 1990 first-time Mac user going ape with WYSIWYG font and style options all over the church bulletin? Oh, yeah. That's the magic, baby.
And can I get a links, both within this site and outside it? Amen, brother.
Let us now stand and recite some pseudo-Latin:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat. Duis aute irure dolor in reprehenderit in voluptate velit esse cillum dolore eu fugiat nulla pariatur. Excepteur sint occaecat cupidatat non proident, sunt in culpa qui officia deserunt mollit anim id est laborum
(Translation: "Block quotes for the win.")
Now feel the (preformatted) spirit, and dance:
Shake it to the left
Shake it to the right
Do the central alignment
Or don't. It's up to you.
MarsEdit, how many ways do I love thy list features?
- With caution
- With reservation
- But I'm warming up to them...
This just in: A bulletin!
- Reasonable point backed by evidence!
- Ridiculous "counterpoint" backed by emotion and innuendo!
- There! We've been "fair and balanced"!
So far so good. But: Can I illuminate this manuscript with art?

Awww, yeahhh.
MarsEdit 3.2.x, you're looking absolutely awesome… in preview. It's time to click "Send to Blog", and see whether this all blows up in my face or not. If this works, I'll quickly share the settings with you (and pony up the cash to turn this trial version into the real thing).
Click.
